The next and most important phase of
our job is to aggressively negotiate a price with the mill that offers our customer a level of price security in both strong and weak markets. Our domestic and international mill part-ners are well chosen, with the purpose of giving our customers breadth in all paper grades.
Our background work continues through the manufacture of our customer’s paper by monitoring basis weight yield and shipping weight tolerances to make certain our customers get what they ordered. We proceed with supplying the printer all the shipping information before the paper even leaves the mill, so that the printer can plan for receipt of all shipments.
If our customer is a cataloger or publisher, we work in conjunction with their printer to make sure all goes well. We have established excellent working relationships with all web printers. Even though we are primarily an end-user focused company, we have significant printer customers who have come to rely on our service as much as our catalog and magazine customers.
In the unlikely event of a problem on press, we have immediate access to mill technical service experts that are on-call to travel wherever the paper is printing to help solve on-press problems and authorize immediate replacement paper if required.
After our customer’s printing is complete, we work with the printer to provide our customer with feedback on waste percentages and set goals for improvement on subsequent projects. We then tabulate leftover paper and provide inventory management for our customer. On future projects we advise what paper is left on the printer’s floor so that current quantities can be reduced and further cost savings can be attained.
Throughout this process and in-between our customer’s projects, Wade Paper Corporation is in a constant state of gathering market information from a wide variety of mill sources, both domestic and international. Additionally, we monitor such things as monetary exchange rates, pulp prices, postal issues and other factors that can affect paper prices. We filter this data to provide our customers a base to make informed decisions on current and future paper requirements. Wade Paper’s goal is to offer our customers total peace of mind.
